This year will mark the 10th anniversary of Sing for Water London and we want to make it very special!

It will again be co-directed by the fantastic Michael Harper and Roxane Smith.  Helen Chadwick will be writing a song especially for the event and we will be joined by the wonderful Stephen Taberner of the Spooky Men!

Choirs from across the UK will journey to The Scoop at More London to sing in a unique, massed choir concert, raising money for WaterAid. Sing for Water features an international repertoire of songs making global connections through water.

This year looks set to be the biggest yet with 50 choirs taking part and over 850 singers, some of whom will travel hundreds of miles to take part.

Sing for Water was initiated by composer Helen Chadwick and the Mayor’s Thames Festival in 2002 to raise money for WaterAid.  Sing for Water events have since proliferated across the country and have raised more than £560,000 for WaterAid projects in India, Burkina Faso, Ghana and Malawi, bringing clean water, sanitation and hygiene education to thousands of people.

Just prior to the Sing for Water concert at 2pm, some of the choirs will be singing extracts from their own repertoires:

Why not tell us WHEN ‘Sing for Water’ is happening. Individual choirs times are shown, but not the main performance in The Scoop. ???

This is my third year at Sing for Water.  It is one of the highlights of my year.  I am looking forward to another fantastic experience and to meeting up with people I’ve made friends with in previous years.  I find the whole thing so therapeutic.

i saw this event last year and it was fantastic, as a choir singer myself, just to be there with hundreds of other singers was an experience in itself.
